Terms of Use & Safety

Human of the World Foundation · Seychelles Shares

A free community noticeboard

Seychelles Shares is operated by Human of the World Foundation, Seychelles registration No. 001314. It lets adults offer or request free items and voluntary help. For arrangements between participants, the Foundation provides information and communication facilities. It is not the seller, supplier, employer, employment agency, insurer or guarantor of a participant. A listing, safety check or moderation decision is not an endorsement or certification.

No selling or hidden conditions

No sales, paid services, barter, deposits, booking fees, compulsory tips, donations or reimbursement as a condition of receiving an item or help. Do not use a free offer to advertise a business, recruit customers, collect marketing contacts or lead someone to a paid service. A recipient does not owe an item, service or favour in return. Describe any practical arrangements clearly before anyone agrees.

Items: condition and safety

Only offer items you are entitled to give or lend. Describe their actual condition, defects and any safety information honestly. Do not post stolen, illegal, counterfeit, recalled or unsafe items, medicines, weapons or hazardous substances. The Foundation does not inspect, test or warrant items, including electronics, household appliances, toys and used baby equipment. Recipients should inspect an item before accepting it and arrange a qualified safety check where needed. Do not use safety-critical equipment if its history, suitability or safety cannot be established.

Help, skills and regulated activities

Describe your experience and limits truthfully. No illegal services or services offered without a licence, qualification, permission or insurance required by law. Calling an activity free or voluntary does not remove legal requirements. This board is not for medical treatment, prescribing, invasive beauty procedures, legal representation or regulated financial advice. Participants must check any required qualifications themselves. Ordinary practical help, including help at home, is arranged directly; the Foundation does not employ, supervise, background-check or guarantee the helper.

Meetings and personal responsibility

Participants decide whether to accept an item or help and are responsible for their own conduct and arrangements. Agree the task, location, timing and any loan return before meeting. Prefer a public place for exchanges where practical, tell someone you trust, and do not proceed if you feel unsafe. Discuss practical arrangements and emergency contacts privately, where relevant. A parent or guardian must arrange and supervise any involvement of a child; do not leave a child or vulnerable person with someone merely because they posted here. The board is not an emergency service.

Responsibility and legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Foundation is not responsible for the condition, safety, suitability or performance of items or help supplied by participants, their representations, or loss or injury arising from their meetings or arrangements. There is no promise that an offer is available or that help will be received. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, removes a statutory right, or excuses the Foundation from its own legal obligations. These terms do not make an otherwise unlawful activity lawful.

Privacy and respectful use

Use a public name and a general area. You may choose to include your own phone number in your listing description; it will be public. Do not publish email addresses, exact home addresses, identity documents or another person’s private information. Keep contact information out of photographs and the public chat. Share necessary meeting details privately only when you are comfortable doing so. Do not copy contacts for marketing, harass people, impersonate anyone or make misleading claims. Read the Privacy Policy for how the site stores and uses information.

Reports and moderation

Use Report on a listing after signing in, or email community@thehumanera.org with its details. Do not send sensitive evidence publicly. Moderators may hide or remove posts, request clarification or suspend posting for violations. Three independent reports temporarily hide a board item for review. Automatic checks can miss scams, hidden commerce and unlicensed services; human moderation is not continuous. A visible post is not proof that it has been individually verified. Contact the Foundation if you believe a moderation decision is mistaken. For immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service directly.
