Seychelles Shares: information we use

For the help board, Human of the World Foundation is responsible for your personal data. We use your sign-in email, public name, offers, requests, optional contact details or photos, private replies, consent records and reports to operate your account, publish what you choose to share, connect participants and handle abuse. We do not require an exact home address. This notice was updated on 22 September 2026.

Public fields and private contacts

Your public name, listing text, general location and any photo you choose to publish can be read, copied or indexed by others. You may choose to publish your own phone number in a listing description after accepting the current posting terms. Phone numbers in older records remain masked until the author edits the listing and accepts those terms. Email addresses remain blocked in public text, and account contact details are never automatically published. It cannot reliably detect personal information written inside a photo, and other details you publish may still identify you. Your account email and the separate optional contact field are not shown on public cards; Foundation moderators can access them. Replies to a listing are stored for its two participants. Share only the contact or meeting details you need; the recipient can still copy or forward them. Private conversations are not described as end-to-end encrypted.

Purposes, legal basis and retention

We use consent for voluntary participation and the publication you explicitly authorise; we process information needed to provide the account, posting and messaging services you request. Necessary security and moderation processing serves the legitimate interest of protecting participants, subject to their rights, and some records may be needed to meet legal obligations. We keep listings and conversations while needed for these services or unresolved reports; closing a conversation or completing a listing does not automatically erase its records. You can request deletion at community@thehumanera.org. Limited records may remain where necessary for legal obligations or a dispute; we will explain the reason. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Public names

Your public name is sent to OpenAI for a safety check before it is saved. If it is flagged or the check is unavailable, it is not saved and any existing public name stays unchanged. Your registration name and account email are not sent for this check.

Automatic checks of public posts

When you submit or edit a public post, its text is sent to OpenAI for a safety check. We do not send private conversations, account details, separate contact fields or photos for this check. Flagged posts, or posts that cannot be checked, are stored for Foundation review and remain hidden from other visitors. We store the outcome with the post. Automatic checks can make mistakes and do not replace human moderation. Human review is not continuous. OpenAI may process this text outside Seychelles under its data policies.

Who is responsible

Human of the World Foundation, registered in Seychelles, No. 001314, is responsible for the participation register. Contact: community@thehumanera.org. Address: Oliaji Trade Centre, 1st Floor, Victoria, Seychelles.

Your choice and your details

Participation is voluntary and based on your consent. We store the name you enter, your verified email address, a pseudonymous account identifier, the versions of the participation statement and this notice, and the time you confirm your consent and that you are 18 or older. The identifier remains personal data. We use these details to record your participation, prevent duplicate registrations and prepare your welcome email, certificate and declaration. Signing in alone does not join the community.

What others can see

The participation register displays only its total publicly. Registration names, account identifiers and email addresses are not published. If you separately choose to post in the community conversation or on the public help board, your chosen public name and published content are visible to everyone with access to the site. The count represents registrations, not independently verified unique physical persons. Joining is free and does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not sell your information.

Email sign-in and messages

You sign in with a 6-digit email code that expires after 5 minutes. A secure session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 7 days; signing out ends that session. Signing in alone does not confirm participation. When you submit the joining form with your name and consents, verifying your email completes your participation and queues a welcome email with your certificate and declaration as two PDFs. The email and both documents are in English. This does not subscribe you to a newsletter.

Service providers and international processing

The website uses OpenAI Sites for hosting, with Cloudflare Workers, D1 and private R2 storage for operation, community records and photos. Resend sends sign-in codes and, after you confirm participation, an English welcome email with your certificate and declaration as English PDFs. Resend receives your email address and, for the welcome email, your name, certificate and the declaration. Porkbun hosts the community@thehumanera.org mailbox used for replies. These providers may process data outside Seychelles. External services have their own privacy practices.

Video and social platforms

The featured YouTube video loads only when you press Play. Playing it connects your browser to YouTube, which processes information under its own privacy terms. Links to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube open those services separately. Social feeds are not loaded automatically on this site.

How long we keep it

Your confirmed participation record remains while you participate. We also store sign-in records and email processing records to operate access, prevent abuse and track sending attempts. Code or session expiry does not itself mean all related records have been deleted. You can withdraw consent and request deletion. We may retain limited information where required by law and will explain any such exception.

Your rights

Write to community@thehumanera.org to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, or to withdraw your consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We may ask for proportionate proof that the request is yours. You can complain to the Seychelles Information Commission at infocom.sc.

People under 18

This self-service form is for people aged 18 or over. A parent or guardian can contact the Foundation about participation for someone younger. No date of birth is collected.

Languages

English is the original text. French, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic and Chinese are prepared translations; the Russian Manifesto and Declaration reproduce the approved Russian edition. When connected, additional languages are translated directly by OpenAI using only our public website text. Registration details, proposals, photos and community messages are not included in those website translation requests. Community posts remain in their authors’ original language. Generated translations may contain errors; the English original remains available. We add no advertising trackers or analytics.

Shared conversation and contribution proposals

We store your public name, community posts, replies, consents, reports and moderation records. Requests and offers you explicitly choose to publish display your public name, title, description, location and availability. Do not include sensitive information in public fields. Account emails and extra contact fields stay private to you and Foundation moderators. Photos are also private unless you separately choose to display them publicly with your offer. Proposals submitted only to the Foundation remain private; older proposals keep their original publication limits. Replies to board items create a stored private conversation visible in the site only to its two participants. Either participant can close it. You can edit or complete your public items, close a request, withdraw an offer or remove your public message. Withdrawal removes the offer card, description, contact fields and photo; a limited withdrawal record remains. Three independent reports temporarily hide a board item. Foundation moderators review reports, hide or restore items and suspend posting. Human moderation is not continuous. Reports are private to moderators. Contact the Foundation to request deletion of community records, including private conversations. Records are kept while needed for coordination or handling reports, subject to deletion requests and applicable retention requirements.

Conversations on this site

Replies in the separate conversation are generated automatically, not written personally by a member of the Foundation. When you send a message, your message and the recent conversation are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Do not include identity documents, financial details or other sensitive information. The chat is kept in page memory and clears when you reload or start a new conversation; it is not saved in the Foundation’s database. OpenAI and hosting providers may process information outside Seychelles and retain limited data under their own policies. OpenAI API data is not used for model training by default, but abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, with exceptions. Selecting a new conversation clears this page, not provider logs. Replies can be mistaken and do not replace professional advice.
